2013.09.22 // Even More Firepower

In the next step on our never ending quest to provide endless tonal versatility, we arrive at a classic amp company with tone for days. Last month, we picked up an Orange OR15 - 15-watt amp with an incredible amount of gain on hand. Paired with it, we snagged an Orange 1x12 PPC cab on Ebay. Talk about pint-sized power. This thing gets loud!

We were so impressed by the OR15 that we blew through even more cash on picking up the big daddy: an Orange AD30 HTC now resides in the studio, and we are more than pleased with it. Loudest 30-watts ever.

Listen for both of these amps on upcoming releases by The Calefaction and Stereo Summer this winter, and if you're looking to use them on your songs, let us know! :)

2013.09.14 // Stateside

Just a quick update. I'm back from my trip and ready to book studio time! October and November are wide open and I'd love to be making some new music. Get in touch with me and let's make that happen?

2013.08.31 // Road Trip!

My lovely girlfriend is starting her last year of graduate school in Canada, and I'm driving up with her! We'll be passing through San Francisco, Portland, Seattle, and making our way to Bellingham for a few days en-route to Vancouver. If you're in the area, I'll have a few days of downtime and would love to jam or write! Just contact me!

Anyway, I'll be out of commission for anything local for a couple weeks, but back in action mid-September and wide open for recording and production. I've got a couple bands coming in, but the schedule is not set in stone, so get in now while you can still make your own schedule! :)

2013.08.28 // Prom Queen

Buttons came back by the studio this week and tracked a bonus single entitled "Prom Queen" to be included on his new EP, which was also tracked at Clarity Recordings in July. Head over to his Facebook page and check out some of the new stuff!

2013.08.24 // Hey Porter

Just put the finishing touches on a sexy Johnny Cash cover by locals Lexington Field. The track will be featured an upcoming compilation of Cash covers tentatively titled, "The Black Project," which is being pressed and released by Grinning Beggar.

Be sure and check it out once they band launches it on their Facebook and the rest of the web! Definitely a fun track to be a part of!

Also, this was the first track utilizing my new arsenal of Audix Microphones on the drums. Audix has been a huge help in getting us armed with new sonic tools, and if you've got any microphonic needs, they're the company you should talk to. Much love for Cliff Castle and the entire Audix crew!

2013.08.06 // New Music

Finished up a new promotional track for The Calefaction this weekend. It's called "Sounds Like Thunder" and you can find it on the band's Bandcamp Page as well as on their profile for the Ernie Ball / Rockstar Energy Uproar Festival. It's a five minute progressive rock adventure that you should definitely give a listen.

2013.07.15 // The Calefaction

Forgot to mention last week that I've got a few dates coming up with The Calefaction this month! July 20th at The Epicentre with Convent and Within Ourselves, July 26th at Tin Can Alehouse with some out of towners, and July 27th for AZP Fest at The Void in North Park. Come out and support your favorite progressive indie rockers!

2013.07.10 // California Extreme

Headed up to San Jose this weekend for California Extreme. It's a killer vintage arcade and pinball machine expo. Tons of games on free play and amazing retro culture. Even some competitions for old school arcade classics like Pole Position and Robotron 2084. I'm free all of July and most of August, and the studio needs some tube warmth. Get in touch and let's make some sexy tunes!

"Sean at Clarity Recordings took us under his wing and gave us a comfortable, friendly, and professional recording experience. He is versatile, affordable, and truly loves music, which definitely shows in his work. This studio's ever expanding catalogue of cutting edge equipment keeps attention to detail the mail focus. I recommend this San Diego based studio for any artist or band that cares deeply about their craft."

"Sean does great things! He was very helpful in the studio. My band traveled from Arizona to record with him. He was super flexible with his schedule and we were able to record everything in a few weekend trips! Easy to work with, very laid back atmosphere, and he will help you capture the sound you are looking for! Thank you again, Sean!"
